"FRENCH + " Short Programs and Scholarship

The Embassy sponsors students to attend the famous "French+" summer programs in France. Applications for 2025 will open from February-March 2025.

Please enrol in the French + Sciences or French + Gastronomy individually before the dates for each course, then apply for the scholarship on the form attached at the bottom of this page. Applications for the scholarship are open from 15 February to 15 April 2025.

 

French+Program Overview

Would you like to immerse yourself in science, sports or gastronomy while visiting France? Do you want to learn or improve your French? Campus France Australia invites you to discover French+, a short-term language, scientific, and technological study program.

Developed by Campus France, in partnership with a selection of French Language Centers (FLE), French+is a short-term language and thematic study program in many interesting sectors around France. French+Sciences is designed for international university students in any field, and English speakers who may be complete beginners in French.

The objective of the French+Sciences program is to help international students overcome the language barrier and encourage them to pursue higher studies in France.

Take part in 3– to 4–week stays organized by French teaching Centers under the “FLE Quality” label (label "Qualité FLE"). Sessions are available in several cities throughout France.

Session Details

The sessions are an original combination of French language teaching and modules taught in English. Sessions are held primarily in English, with some French learning modules. English-speaking tutors assist students during their stay. 

The sessions enable students to earn ECTS credits. Please discuss with your university language department if you would like to ensure your credits are recognised to your degree.

The French+ Service Package

The French+ program offers you a complete package of services which includes:

  • Airport pickup, transportation to and from the language centre (10 students minimum required);
  • Housing (multiple options), tutoring and monitoring of progress;
  • Assessment and final report.

  • Dates: 09 June to 27 June 2025 in Rouen. This program is organised by French in Normandy, in partnership with ESIGELEC and the Normandy region.

  • 2 sessions in Brest. This stay is organised by CIEL Bretagne, in partnership with the Institut Universitaire Européen de la Mer (IUEM) and the Campus Mondial de la Mer.

« Micro, Nano & Smart Technology for Industrial Applications »  in Bourgogne.

  • Dates: 02 to 27 June 2025 in Besançon. This stay is organised by the CLA school, in partnership with EIPHI Graduate School.

  • Why this program?
    • Bourgogne-Franche-Comté is a French Tech labeled region through three centers of excellence: Health-Tech network, in Besançon, the Châlon-sur-Saône eco-system, which has joined the IoT and manufacturing network and the FoodTech network, in Dijon.
    • The Graduate School EIPHI provides the training of the scientific part. EIPHI relies on three internationally renowned laboratories, FEMTO-ST, ICB and IMB covering thematic fields such as mathematics, physics, micro nanosciences and systems, computer science, mechatronics, as well as materials and energy.

  • Dates: 03 to 20 June 2025 in Chambéry. This stay is organised by the school Accents Chambéry and University Savoie-Mont-Blanc

  • Why this program?
    • University Savoie-Mont-Blanc is close to its local environment and very open to Europe and the rest of the world.
    • This rich and varied three-week program combines outdoor sports activities and scientific aspects
    • A wide range of outdoor sports will be offered and different topics will be studied and analysed, including motor performance, sports equipment and related local industry, link between sport and health, sport tourism.

Embassy Scholarship for French+ Program

The Embassy of France in Australia supports students studying in Australian universities by providing a scholarship to cover full enrolment costs, plane tickets and insurance for participants in the French + Sciences programs.

Students can receive a full scholarship by the Embassy of France in Australia. To receive this, you must be enrolled full time in an Australian higher education institution, or be recently graduated from one and living in Australia.

You must apply directly to the school and inform them that you are requesting a scholarship from the Embassy and apply for the scholarship to us at the same time.

To apply for the scholarship, please fill out the application form linked at the bottom of the page.

  • The completed formula and all required documents must be sent to education.canberra-amba@diplomatie.gouv.fr.
  • Applications are open from 15 February to 15 April 2025. Any applications sent outside these dates or incomplete will not be considered.

All scholarships are organised and paid for by Campus Franc. The beneficiary engages to certain rights and responsibilities as a grant recipient of the French government. Scholarships can only cover the period of the French+ program, if the candidate wants to stay in France outside the dates of the program the travel costs will be at the responsibility of the beneficiary.
